The English Faculty has grown alongside the school while maintaining small class sizes, ensuring students benefit from individual attention, challenge and support. Examination results are consistently strong, and in recent years, several students have progressed to study English at leading universities, reflecting both the strength of the academic programme and the department's passion for the subject.
The faculty comprises seven talented and collaborative teachers. At GCSE, all students take Edexcel IGCSE English Language and English Literature as separate qualifications. At A Level, the department offers Edexcel English Literature, including the Non-Examined Assessment (NEA). A Level numbers are growing steadily, with 16 students currently in Year 12.
Beyond the classroom, English has a vibrant enrichment programme, including debating, parent events for Years 7 to 9, and the English Society Magazine, which celebrates creative writing and student voice.

Applicants should have at least two years' full-time teaching experience and the ability to teach English to GCSE level. Experience of A Level English Literature is desirable.
