Kellett School are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design and Technology Teacher to join our outstanding British International School in Hong Kong.
Design and Technology at Kellett School is a high-growth, forward-looking department at an exciting stage of its development. Student uptake has risen rapidly over the past four years at both GCSE and A Level, reflecting the department's ambition, the quality of its teaching, and the genuine enthusiasm of our students for the subject. We are now looking for an exceptional practitioner to help shape the next chapter of that growth.
Our mission is to deliver an advanced, dynamic and innovative curriculum experience across all Key Stages. At Key Stage 3, students build their skills and confidence through a rich programme of project-based learning units that move across the major material areas, developing both technical competence and creative thinking. At Key Stage 4, the department is currently undergoing an exciting transition: we are developing a new Kellett Assessed Programme to replace the existing AQA Design and Technology GCSE, and the successful candidate will play a central role in writing new schemes of work for this programme, including the development of meaningful links with industry. At Key Stage 5, we follow the AQA A Level Product Design specification, and experience of teaching this course is highly desirable.
The department is exceptionally well-equipped, with access to a full range of CAD/CAM technologies including CNC machining, 3D printing and laser cutting. We are looking for a candidate who is not only proficient in these tools but who can inspire students to use them with creativity, precision and purpose.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design and Technology or Engineering teacher, holding a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design Engineering or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will bring extensive classroom experience across Key Stages, a strong command of CAD/CAM systems, and the vision and initiative to contribute to curriculum development at a pivotal moment for the department. Experience of teaching AQA A Level Product Design is desirable.
You will be a collaborative and ambitious practitioner, committed to delivering outstanding lessons that challenge and support students across the full ability range. You will be enthusiastic about building industry partnerships, contributing to the wider life of the school, and helping to define what Design and Technology looks like at Kellett for years to come.
If you are excited by the opportunity to join a thriving, innovative department in one of Hong Kong's leading international schools, we would be delighted to hear from you.
