About The Role

Background

Kellett School continues to aspire to be the leading sports provision programme and performance levels in Hong Kong.

We have 12 full-time specialists, Heads of Sport across our major sports, six support specialist coaches, and two Prep School PE/Games leads.

Our Head of Performance who works closely with our Heads of Sport, PE teachers on our Long-Term athletic development programme LTADP), as individual and team sport skill and athletic development is key.

We hold several sporting titles across many age groups in the HKPSSF, ISSFHK, FOBISIA and HKSSF competitions.

 

The Role

We require a skilled sports coach/practitioner and enthusiastic colleague who works well as part of a team to join the Physical Education Department and Games department at Kellett Kowloon Bay Preparatory School.

This is a campus-wide role, based full-time at the Kowloon Bay campus, providing support for Preparatory and Senior School sport, as well as Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs).

The School focuses on the following sports at in the Prep Schools/Senior:

 The post-holder will contribute to maintaining the high profile of PE & Sports activities in the Kellett Community.


 
Key Tasks and Duties

  • To support the organisation and set up of equipment for PE and Games lessons.
  • To support student learning within a PE and Games lesson under the direction of the PE teacher.
  • Assist in the games and the ECA program in delivering planned lessons with guidance to a small group.
  • Assist in preparing for Games / ECAs / fixtures and sporting events before, during and after school.
  • Providing support in EYFS & KS1 lessons and managing individuals.
  • To support the PE teacher with general administrative duties.
  • To support and assist with delivery of curriculum swimming lessons
  • Work with students’ progress throughout the school year on games
  • To support and or lead (15:10-16:10) KLB ECA’s and support the dismissal and collection of children from after-school ECAs.
  • To undertake supervision duties during the school day (e.g. at break & lunch times).
  • To lead and or supervise students for home and away sports fixtures.
  • To lead teams on games/sport afternoons and lead teams in the Senior school.

About You

Candidate Profile Requirements
 
Coaching and Teaching Sport
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of fun, contributing to a positive and motivating environment for students and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate experience playing and coaching at least one of Kellett’s major sports to a high standard, with the ability to model skills and promote high expectations.
  • Hold relevant National Governing Body coaching qualifications or show a clear commitment to undertaking and completing them.
  • Have experience working with primary‑aged children, from ages 4-11 years, with a sound understanding of delivering fundamental movement skills that support coordination, confidence, and physical development. 

General and Administrative
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Confident use of digital platforms including Google tools and spreadsheets; experience with MS Teams, iSAMS, and SOCS Sport is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with Google Classroom and Seesaw is an advantage.

  • Show a willingness to learn, adapt, and develop coaching practice.

 

 Terms and Conditions

 Working Hours : Term time only; 7.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday; plus to support and lead an early
training session from 7.15am to 8.00am once a week and two after school practices
from 3.15pm to 4.10pm.
 Base : Kowloon Bay Campus
 Medical Insurance : Provided
