Kellett School is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable individuals to join our bank of Supply Teaching Assistants. This flexible role provides valuable support to teachers and students when short-term cover is required across the school.
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping to maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Assignments may range from single-day cover to longer-term placements, often arranged at short notice, so flexibility and a willingness to adapt are essential.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a professional approach, a commitment to supporting children's learning and wellbeing, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Supply Teaching Assistants are expected to uphold the values of Kellett School and serve as positive role models through their conduct, communication, and presentation.

The key responsibilities of the role are outlined below.
- To work under the direction of class teachers, or other senior members of staff, with individual children and groups of children in all subject areas.
- To maintain a positive relationship with children, parents and colleagues.
To ensure the good behaviour of the children in your care, develop positive attitudes; encourage self-discipline and foster self-esteem.
- To supervise students during the lunchtime period and breaks.
- To assist with the supervision of students on their arrival/departure and during school times.
- To promote a positive image of Kellett School in the immediate and wider community.
- To maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to students, staff, school management and parents.
- To record observations of children’s behaviour and progress as directed by the class teacher.
- To comply with health and safety arrangements and draw to the attention of the Health & Safety Co-ordinator any deficiencies or risks.
