About The Role

Reporting to: Prep Music Curriculum Leader / TA Coordinator

Main Purpose
On a day-to-day basis Teaching Assistants are required to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of a Teaching Assistant’s professional duties as set out in this job description, and as outlined in the applicable Kellett School Association Ltd. Terms and Conditions of Employment.
 

Teaching Assistants are required to set a good example to the students, through their presentation, personal and professional conduct.

Main Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant (Music) will report to the Music Curriculum Leader and be responsible for assigned administrative and professional duties in the department.

  • Assist the Music Teachers in working with small groups of students or with individual students in the Music classroom
  • Assist in preparing for music lessons, ECAs and events both during and after school
  • Provide administrative and technical support for the Music Department, including the maintenance of resources and equipment
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Music Curriculum Leader/School Leadership Team (SLT) and Principal

About You

Required skills

Experience in working with Primary – aged students, preferably in a school setting
Experience in setting up AV / Studio / Band equipment preferred 
Knowledge in music, ability to play an instrument and sing is advantageous
Knowledge of lighting and sound systems preferred
Good IT skills 
Good organisational skills 
Collaborative, team player 
Excellent spoken and written English 
Willingness to learn

 Base:   Pok Fu Lam Campus
Working Hours:
 Monday to Friday 7:45am - 3:45pm.  (Term Time only)
 (Flexible arrangement to accommodate ELP days/events to suit needs of the students)
