About The Role

The Board Clerk is an established role within the school, but an increase in breadth and scope has prompted a review moving it from a part-time to a full-time (school year only) position.  The role serves the main Board of Kellett School Association Ltd, plus the associated Boards of Kellett Foundation Ltd and Friends of Kellett School (FOKS) but going forward the new UK Kellett Foundation will also require some element of support – note references to “Board” within this JD refer to all entities.

The Board Clerk reports directly to the Director of Finance & Operations but given the diverse nature of the role is expected to work closely with the respective Board Chairs, Principal/CEO, and other members of Board(s) and the Senior Leadership Team, which may include direct assignment of work from time to time.

The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the effective management and coordination of each respective Board’s activities in line with established procedures. The Board Clerk shall ensure that Board policy directives and decisions are acted upon and/or followed up accordingly in accordance with Hong Kong’s Companies Ordinance.  Managing effective communication between the School and the respective Board members is also a critical part of the role.

Work hours

Work hours are based upon the annual meeting schedule of Boards and Board sub-committee meetings, with most meetings taking place in the evening. In addition to attending meetings there is a requirement to be office-based (at the Kowloon Bay Campus) at least two fixed days per week during the School Year (0800-1600 being the normal working day but hours are negotiable). The role is therefore suited to someone who can adapt their lifestyle and domestic circumstances accordingly. There is no requirement to work during school holidays.
