As part of our commitment to helping students flourish beyond school, we are investing further in our careers education provision through the appointment of a dedicated Careers Counsellor. This new role reflects our ambition to build on the strong foundations already in place and ensure that every student has access to the highest quality careers education, information, advice and guidance throughout their time at Kellett.
Working alongside our Assistant Head Pastoral and University Guidance team, the Careers Counsellor will lead the development of our Positively Kellett Futures Literacy programme, helping students to better understand themselves, explore the wide range of opportunities available to them, and make informed decisions about their future pathways. This includes raising awareness of not only universities and traditional professions, but also emerging careers, entrepreneurship, internships, apprenticeships, vocational routes and other opportunities that reflect the changing nature of work.
The role will strengthen connections between learning in school and life beyond Kellett, helping students develop the transferable skills, dispositions and future-focused mindset that employers, universities and society increasingly value. Through partnerships with employers, alumni, parents and industry professionals, students will benefit from meaningful encounters and real-world experiences that broaden horizons, inspire ambition and deepen understanding of future possibilities.
Our aim is simple: to ensure that every Kellett student leaves us with a strong sense of who they are, an understanding of the opportunities ahead of them, and the confidence to navigate their own pathway successfully in an uncertain but exciting future.
This appointment represents an important next step in our ongoing commitment to providing world class guidance and support as we help students prepare not only for their next destination, but for a lifetime of learning, growth and contribution.
