About The Role

We are seeking is seeking to appoint a number of confident and reliable Examination Invigilators to join our team in order to ensure the effective running of internal/external examinations. 

Purpose 
 
To support the examinations process, the Examinations Invigilator will assist the Senior Examinations Invigilator in conducting internal and external examinations for students, ensuring that all JCQ and CAIE regulatory requirements for the conduct of examinations are strictly adhered to. The post adds to a team consisting of an Assistant Head (Data and Exams), Examinations Manager, and Exam Invigilators. 

Key Tasks/Specific Duties
 
Under the guidance of the Senior Invigilator:

To assist Examinations Office staff with examination processes.  This activity may include:

Assisting with the receipt, checking and packing of examination papers, stationery
Assisting with the preparation of seating plans
Preparation and dispatching of scripts to Examiners
Delivery of equipment prior to the examinations and the delivery to and from venues as appropriate

To coordinate and manage the day-to-day operation of examination venues. 
This activity may include:
liaising with the Site Manager to ensure the room is set out appropriately
ensuring that the examination room meets JCQ and CAIE requirements by checking, prior to the arrival of candidates, that:
heating, lighting, ventilation and levels of noise are acceptable
no display materials that might be helpful to candidates are visible to each candidate
the Centre Number and a reliable clock of readable size are visible to each candidate
the Warning to Candidates and No Mobile Phones posters are displayed both inside and outside the examination room
the Notice to Candidates poster is displayed in a public place outside the examination room
the seating arrangements prevent candidates, intentionally or otherwise, from overseeing the work of others
ensuring that a signed record is kept of the seating and invigilation arrangements for any examination session that you participate in
ensuring correct identification of all candidates
taking reasonable steps to ensure that:
the official examination stationery is issued to candidates and that no other stationery, including paper for rough work, is provided
candidates take into the examination room only those articles, instruments or materials which are expressly permitted
candidates have all the necessary material to enable them to complete the examination
ensuring late candidates are briefed, seated and allowed to partake in the exam with minimum disruption
opening the packet of examination papers and issuing the papers to candidates
giving clear instructions to candidates about the conduct of the examination to ensure that they fully understand what they are required to do
supervising candidates throughout the whole time the examination is in progress, and give complete attention at all times to this duty
contacting a teacher in the subject area when candidates raise a concern or problem with the paper that requires the professional judgement of a teacher
completing the Attendance Register during the examination, in accordance with the instructions of the Awarding Body
knowing the actions to be taken in the event of an emergency such as a fire alarm or bomb alert
at the end of the examination, collecting the scripts and ensuring that candidates have used the correct Centre and Candidate numbers, and that no scripts are missing
collecting all unused stationery in the examination room and returning it to the Examinations Officer
ensuring that the room is left in tidy condition

Terms and Conditions

Location: Kowloon Bay Campus

Working times:

In preparation for an examination period, working hours will be flexible and as required between 8am and 4pm. During examination periods, examinations can be taking place at any time between 9am and 10:00 pm. The main examination period takes place in May/June; however, a more limited period also occurs in November, December and January.

Working hours and times to be agreed based on the examinations schedule.

i.e. Hong Kong Permanent Residents, Dependent Visa Holders, IANG. We will not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
